Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.’ Give a child technology and he'll use it for a lifetime. Technology, in this post-pandemic era, has become a non-negotiable part of a child’s daily life. Children between the ages of 3 and 5 typically spend an average of four hours a day exposed to technology, and its use has been on the rise across all age groups. Technology allows children to connect and bond with family, friends, and others in ways that enrich their relationships, especially when using video chat and other real-time interactions.
Parents and caregivers eventually minimize the use of apps, games, and other content online realising the potential negative effects, mentally and physically. The goal here, however, is not to completely eliminate technology from a child's life but rather adapt and "exploit" technology in a way it becomes a positive tool. Technology helps children become independent learners faster. Once they learn how to safely access digital information sources, they can explore topics that interest them and slowly build up their personality and character. They eventually learn the importance of building a community and how to interact with people in social situations. When circumstances do not allow children
to have physical contact with family, friends, and others, they can use
technology to create "virtual connections."
Exposure, provided at the right time, to technology, can teach children the digital skills they will need to succeed in school and their future adulthood. Many technology products improve hand-eye coordination in young children, while others focus on developing their language and problem-solving skills.
It is very important that children learn about technology at the right age
because the upcoming world is filled with the use of it. From jobs online to creating businesses and organizations having a lasting impact, our society relies on technology. It serves as a dynamic force, expanding our learning and letting us travel beyond the confines of our room.
It is the most amazing tool if used in the right way. Parents can also track
their children with technology. Now imagine if a child is in difficulty, and
has no adult around, he could be alright with the use of technology if he
knows how to use it.
